Costa del Sol
BENALMADENA
For the past twenty years Benalmádena has been one of the principle tourism areas on the Costa del Sol. It is divided into three urban areas: Benalmádena Pueblo, Arroyo de la Miel and Benalmádena Costa plus Torrequebrada.
There is plenty to do all the year round, among the attractions being the award winning Puerto Marina, the Casino in Torrequebrada and the golf course of the same name. The marina, in Benalmádena Costa, can take up to almost 1,000 boats of up to six metres long, and almost all types of water sports are practiced here, including parasailing and snorkelling. The cable cars (telecabinas) link Arroyo de la Miel with the peak of the Carramolo mountain, and from here, on a clear day, you can see across to the Africa continent. Heading down from the town on the Torremuelle road, one arrives at the Torrequebrada Casino, one of the best entertainment and conference centres on the entire coastline. ESTEPONA
Estepona is located to the west of the Costa del Sol, situated between Marbella and Manilva at the foot of the Sierra Bermeja mountains. The town centre has been conserved with its traditional Andalusian style of architecture, balconies decorated with flower pots and whitewashed houses. Estepona is also one of the most important tourist towns on the southern coastline, with magnificent beaches and facilities, excellent hotels and restaurants. It has a very prestigious riding school, the Escuela de Arte Ecuestre de la Costa del Sol; a wildlife park (Selwo) that is among the best in Europe, and a host of sporting facilities for both water and mountain. FUENGIROLA

MANILVA
The municipality of Manilva is situated at the far south-western end of the province of Malaga, 97 kilometres from the city of Malaga and 35 from Gibraltar, bordering with the province of Cadiz. It is the meeting point between the Costa del Sol and the Campo de Gibraltar.
Manilva is made up of five separate areas: Manilva, Sabinillas, El Castillo, Hondacavada and El Puerto de la Duquesa, as well as numerous housing developments.
The municipality’s great fishing tradition is in evidence every day at its wholesale fish market at San Luis de Sabinillas, on the coast, while the area is also marked with natural beauty, from Las Lomas de Miraflores to Don Pedro. Nowadays Manilva’s impressive urban growth lives side by side with typical traditions, such as the treading of the grapes in September, announcing the next vintage of muscatel wine. MALAGA
Clear southern light, blue skies most of the year round and the best climate in all of Europe. This is Malaga, the City of Paradise, as poet and Nobel Prize winner Vicente Aleixandre called it. This is where the continent ends and another begins across the water, a maritime city that has been port of call to many different civilizations throughout the ages. The first to settle here were the Phoenicians, and they left behind them a rich heritage of commerce, coinage and alphabet, and set the economy of the city on its way through agriculture, ironwork, precious metals and fishing. MARBELLA

MIJAS
Mijas, known as "The White Village" is situated at the foothills of the Cordón Montañoso del Litoral (Coastal Mountain Range), one of the most typical examples of the pretty mountain town in Andalucía, with views over much of the Costa del Sol. The municipal area covers almost 140 square kilometres, from the mountains down to the sea, surrounding the municipality of Fuengirola. The urban areas of Mijas are Mijas Pueblo, Las Lagunas and La Cala de Mijas. In the first we find the old part of the town with its Town Hall, its historic buildings and its whitewashed houses. Las Lagunas is where most of the services and housing developments are situated, as in La Cala de Mijas. The Fuengirola River flows through the centre of the municipality, where there are large agricultural areas being gradually taken over by golf courses and luxury housing estates. The coastal area is highly developed for tourism, even in the small coves where the mountains reach down to the sea. But the four Vigilance Towers dating from centuries back are still there, these being the Calaburras, the Torre Vieja, the Torre Nueva (this built in the 19th century) and the Torre de Calahonda, built in the 16th century. communities include El Faro, Miraflores, Riviera del Sol and Calahonda

Nerja is the easternmost municipality of Malaga Province, lying between the foothills of the Sierra Almijara and the coast. There are two main areas of population: the town of Nerja itself and the little hamlet of Maro. At the entrance to the town of Nerja from the western end, on the N-340 main road, there stands a sculpture by Aurelio Teno known as the Rapto de Europa (the abduction of Europe), which was set up to commemorate Spain’s entry into the European Community in January 1986. At the southern tip of the town a famous promontory, known as the Balcón de Europa.
It is just one kilometre inland from here that Nerja’s great natural wonder lay hidden for thousands of years - a huge cave, where music and dance festivals are held every summer. Designated a national monument, it is visited by over 500,000 people a year. Just a few miles down the coast is the beautiful village of La Herradura to the east and Torrox Costa to the west.

TORROX
The town centre of Torrox is exceptionally rich in historic architecture, its narrow and winding streets reminiscent of Moorish times. The town centre is filled with small houses built as the ground rises and falls. The central Plaza de la Constitución has a unique collection of Roman busts on the gable ends of the buildings, and there too is the imposing parish church.
Torrox has long been the poor relative to Nerja but is now standing on its own feet with more and more people buying property in the town, outlying areas and at Torrox Costa by the beach.

Torrevieja is situated directly on the shores of the Mediterranean on the southern part of the Costa Blanca, about 30 km south of Alicante. Cabo Roig
Cabo Roig is surrounded by miles and miles of clean white beaches with water sports featuring strongly in the area including sailing, scuba diving or family boat rides as the most popular activities of the area. The marina in Cabo Roig is just one of the many pretty marinas for boat owners. The delightful peninsula of old Cabo Roig on the Costa Blanca with its broad tree lined avenues boast palm trees galore and landscaped gardens with stunning views of the Mediterranean, La Manga peninsula and the Mar Menor provide a picturesque setting.
Villamartin
Villamartin is found to the south of Torrevieja and it is here that you will find some of the best golf courses on the Costa Blanca, Villamartin, Las Ramblas de Orihuela. and Campoamor, all 3 situated surrounding the Residence Villamartin. The Villamartin development began in the early 70´s and has evolved into a stunning Mediterranean village of approximately 1500 apartments, townhouses and villas.
Added to which the climate is wonderful, the beaches are uncrowded and there are a number of lively towns within a few minutes drive.
La Zenia

La Zenia is the most popular beach area, located in front of the main entrance of Villamartin. The Las Ramblas de Orihuela and Campoamor golf course are located close by
Denia
Denia is a coastal city located to the north of the province of Alicante and has a 20-kilometre coastline, made up of small, private and beautiful coves. A popular area for residential tourism, Denia is also the main departure point for ferries leaving for the Balearic Islands. To the north there are the fine sandy beaches of Les Marines and Les Bovetes and the shingle beaches of Les Deveses and L' Almadrava beaches which are craggy and rocky. Though the beaches are long, they are not large and generally appeal to families. The Costa Blanca mild temperature, the annual average being 18º C, means that it is a pleasant place to stay.
Javea
Jávea is located in the northern area of the province of Alicante, between the capes of San Antonio and La Nao and is one of the ex-pat community hotspots. Thousands of villas are scattered around Jávea's municipality which boast leisure harbours, small coves and El Arenal beach. Along the Avenida del Mediterraneo which runs along the Javea harbour area, you will find many excellent restaurants and bars
Calpe
The nature of Calpe can be appreciated through both nautical excursions or land based expeditions. The Peñón de Ifach rock is renowned by climbers for its difficulties and unique features, and it can be climbed by a number of routes of varying difficulty. Potholing is possible on the steep banks and peaks of the Monte Oltá and the Barranc del Mascarat. Calpe's attractions have made the village a tourist destination of note for both national and international visitors, who live together all year round in peace and harmony. Benidorm
Benidorm's beaches and ever increasing range of leisure activities explain why has it has become Costa Blanca's main tourist area. Benidorm has some of the best beaches in Spain. The fine sand, cleaned daily by the town hall, the quality of the services and the transparency of the water are the main reasons given by Benidorm's many repeat visitors.
Benidorm's attractions include its island, Terra Mitica theme park, Mundomar sea-life park and Aqualandia water fun park, together with hundreds of discotheques, night clubs and restaurants for every pocket.
Villajoyosa
Villajoyosa is the historic and administrative capital for La Marina Baixa. Traditionally its economy has depended both on shallow-water and deep-sea fishing, but this is sure to change as more and more discover its charm each year. The sea around Villajoyosa has been a determining factor in its history and culture and the town's overseas trade has produced La Vila's other typical industry - chocolate. The town boasts 3.5 kms of beaches as well as numerous small coves which are ideal for a spot of sun-bathing or snorkelling.
Alicante
Alicante is situated in the Bay formed by the Cabo de las Huertas and the Cabo de Santa Pola, at the foothills of the Monte Benacantil. Alicante boasts lovely beaches, a long promenade and many fine restaurants, shops and bars. The Paseo Maritimo runs parallel to the seafront and is a favourite place to stroll in the evenings, whilst visiting the city, spend an hour or two watching the locals or eat a cooling ice cream, and listen to concerts performed by the Municipal Band.
Elche
Elche is the second largest city in the Alicante Province and rivals Alicante with its population. It boasts the impressive Palmeral palm tree forest and is surrounded by more than 300,000 palm trees; recently named part of the UNESCO humankind heritage. Elche offers a wide range range of attractions including several excellent beaches.
Altea
Altea is located on the Spanish Mediterranean Coast, between Alicante and Valencia. Altea is a village which offers all the traditional charm that you could expect in southern Spain. The dome of Altea's church, blue with a white geometrical design, is one of the most recognized and symbolic images on the Costa Blanca. Altea is situated on a hill whose peak rises above the white-tiled parish church. The magnificently eclectic and cluttered streets of the Old Town provides Altea with a magical charm that will surely lure you back several times in the future. Albox
Albox is a traditional white-washed village with it's narrow streets and numerous plazas in which to while away the hours. Cabo de Gata
The coastline of the Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata is to say the least, dramatic. Isolated sandy coves, rugged mountains and black cliffs plunge nigh on vertically into the sea. Cabo de Gata is one of the few remaining hidden paradises in the Mediterranean, part of the Nijar Natural Park, a 30km long coastal strip made from a sub-desert mountain range, which has produced through the centuries some of the most spectacular beaches and coves.

Mojacar

Roquetas de Mar is part of the Natural Park and the outlying marshes attract many species of indigenous birds and flamingos which come here to breed.
Roquetas de Mar offers a small marina surrounded by tapas bars and attractive restaurants, specializing in locally caught fish dishes.
San Jose
San José is a charming little town hidden away in a wide sheltered bay along the coastline of the Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata - Nijar.
San José is found in a natural wide bay formed by two huge sections of volcanic rock. Many virgin beaches and coves nearby are ideal for sunbathers in search of peace and tranquility.
Recently discovered by tourism, San José now boasts two ports, one for fishing and one for sport activities, plus a small number chalets and apartments that have sprung up to cater for the increasing number of tourists who have discovered the natural beauty.
